ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Kyle Lu and I am a photographer in the Bay Area. I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Economics and Statistics. I was born and raised in Orange County. I decided to make a big change and move to San Francisco post graduation after accepting an offer to work in the city.

I started photography when I was in high school. Prior to that, I was drawing throughout my elementary and the beginning of my middle school years. However, after experiencing some nerve issues in my hands, it became hard for me to hold a pencil for prolonged periods of time. I am glad to have discovered photography as it filled the creative gap in my life where drawing used to be. Ever since picking up a camera and joining yearbook in high school, I continued to refine my craft into college and now post-grad.

Besides being behind a camera I have a lot of hobbies! I love to paddle; I’m part of a big sport called dragon boat. The sport has helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle where I work out in the gym when I’m not on the water and by reminding me to eat healthy foods. Alongside paddling, I am an aspiring barista! I like experimenting by making different drinks and hope to put my boba shop experience to use by one day opening up my own shop. Finally, I am a huge binge-watcher. I have finished 20 series in the past year. My current favorites are: Jane the Virgin, One Day at Time, and Ugly Betty! Let’s talk about TV shows!

I’m looking to work with people who want to capture some beautiful memories and may not always be in front of a camera! I’m here to make sure that you have an enjoyable experience in front of a camera and capture the story you want! If you’re goofy and and respectful then I think we will be a good fit for each other.
